ABOUT ISABEL ESQUIVEL
A career built on curiosity, strategy, and the belief that good marketing starts with listening.
This page isn't a list of titles and credentials. It's the story of how I got here, what I believe about marketing, and what drives me to do this work every day. I wrote it for the people who want to understand not just what I've done, but how I think and why it matters.
MY JOURNEY
Every environment taught me something different.
I started in agency life managing content and campaigns across 22 client accounts simultaneously. It was fast and demanding in the best possible way. That environment gave me breadth I couldn't have gotten anywhere else. The discipline of serving multiple voices at once, the empathy to understand what each client actually needed versus what they said they wanted, and the speed to execute without losing quality. I learned to think in systems and move with urgency.
Moving into public relations at LAVIDGE added a different dimension. PR is about precision. Every word in a pitch, every relationship with a journalist, every earned placement is a deliberate act. I developed a deeper understanding of how external audiences form impressions of an organization, and how fragile and valuable reputation really is. That lens has stayed with me in every role since.
When I moved into the education and nonprofit sector at Education Forward Arizona, strategy met mission in a way I hadn't experienced before. Communicating on behalf of work that directly affects students and communities carries real weight, and that weight sharpened everything. I became more deliberate about message architecture, more intentional about audience, and more convinced that marketing done well can genuinely change how communities understand and engage with work that matters.
Each chapter added a layer. Together, they shaped a marketing leader who can move between strategy and execution, between boardroom and community, and between big ideas and the details that make them real.
MY APPROACH
Rooted in Strategy & Creativity
The best work I've done has always happened at the intersection of rigorous strategy and genuine creative curiosity. Neither alone is sufficient. Strategy without creativity produces forgettable work, and creativity without strategy produces beautiful noise. I've spent my career learning how to hold both at the same time.
Strategy First
I start every engagement by understanding organizational goals, audience needs, and the gap between them because tactics without strategy are just noise.
Creative Rigor
Compelling work requires both imagination and discipline. The willingness to take creative risks paired with the analytical eye to know when something is working.
Collaboration as a Method
The best outcomes I've achieved came from working across teams, functions, and perspectives. I treat collaboration as a strategic input, not a courtesy.
Continuous Learning
Marketing changes constantly; I stay current through deliberate learning, curiosity about emerging tools, and a willingness to evolve my thinking as the landscape shifts.
BEYOND WORK
Personal Life
Outside of work, I try to stay curious about the world, about people, and about experiences that have nothing to do with a marketing plan.
Travel is one of my greatest sources of perspective. There's nothing like being somewhere unfamiliar to remind you that context shapes everything: how stories are told, what people value, and how organizations earn trust in communities different from their own. Every trip adds something to how I think about audience.
I love dance, and the communities built around movement and rhythm. There's a kind of trust and energy in those spaces that I find genuinely instructive. The way people listen to each other, respond in real time, and create something together that no one could have made alone. It's not unlike the best collaborative work I've experienced professionally.
I do some of my best thinking over a good cup of coffee in a neighborhood cafe with something to write on. The informal conversations that happen in those spaces, with friends, strangers, or colleagues, often lead to the most interesting ideas.
The interests and the work aren't separate lives. They shape the same person; someone who leads with curiosity, listens before speaking, and genuinely enjoys the people she works with.
